Several days had passed with Beatrix and Jacob enjoying the hospitality of the Mayor. They had written the Earl to update him on their progress and he was very pleased with them. Lady Harrington along with the blonde girl was at the Earl’s keep awaiting their fate. The Earl told them that Lady Harrington had recovered surprisingly well from her previous torture. He also made a point of admiring her composure even though she had been informed she was to face additional torture.
